Divinatory techniques: how a reading proceeds
How does a divinatory reading proceed? Compare drawing cards, observing an image and calculating an astrological chart from birth details.

Drawing and arranging
With cards or marked tokens, the reading begins with selected or drawn elements. Describe the number, order and role of each position before interpreting. If you change the layout after an unwelcome answer, retain the first attempt too.
Observing an image
When looking into a reflective surface, distinguish the visible image from the association. “I see a light patch” and “this is someone who will arrive” are different claims. Recording them separately clarifies the discussion.
Calculation from input data
An astrological chart adds a reproducible calculation using date, time, place and coordinates. Symbolic interpretation follows it. A difference in method does not automatically establish greater predictive accuracy.
