Aleksandar Krastnikov
Postal worker, publisher and organiser of a spiritual society, Aleksandar Krastnikov left a substantial paper trail. His newspaper Bethlehem Star brought together accounts of visions, clairvoyants and encounters among people searching beyond everyday explanations.

The circle around a newspaper
Researcher Galina Goncharova examines how Krastnikov’s society for psychic investigation and spiritual study built connections between towns. Bethlehem Star also carried accounts of Dyado Vlaycho. The newspaper links Krastnikov to figures now better known than its editor.
What the archives preserve
Zhorzheta Nazarska traces his work as a telegraphist and settlement in Burgas. Her study includes a passport photograph from the 1940s and group photographs of followers. It also distinguishes the early circles, formal registration and later organisation, whose beginnings cannot be reduced to one event.
Legends and written records
Predictions of the Chirpan earthquake and German reunification are attributed to Krastnikov. Goncharova identifies them as legends surrounding him. Repetition does not establish when the words were spoken; the publication date of an old account matters as much as its content.
