Online Tarot: Free Card Reading

Online tarot is a reading with tarot cards drawn at random on the screen. The deck has 78 cards: 22 in the Major Arcana and 56 in the Minor Arcana, in four suits of 14 cards (wands, cups, swords and pentacles). Every card has a meaning upright and reversed; the meanings here follow the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.

Tarot is a tradition for reflection, not scientific proof and not a prediction.

How many cards to draw

The cards are drawn at random from all 78 and stay on this device until midnight.

Three steps

How to read tarot cards online

On this page you draw the cards and read their meanings. The interpretation of the whole spread as one text for your question is in the spread interpreter and needs a sign-in.

  1. The question

Think about what exactly you want to know. One card is enough for a question with two outcomes; “why” and “where to” need three or more.

  2. The draw

The cards come out at random the moment you press, from all 78. Each one can be upright or reversed.

  3. The reading

Every card has its own keywords, and its place in the spread says which part of the question they speak to: the past, the present or the future.

  • Uprighthope, faith and inspiration
  • Reversedlack of faith, despair and pessimism

Example: The Star, upright and reversed, with the keywords of each side

Frequently asked questions

How do you read tarot cards online?

You choose a spread, think of the question and draw the cards; each position in the spread has its own meaning. Here you draw one or three cards from all 78: they come out at random the moment you press, upright or reversed. Then you read the keywords of each card by its place.

Is tarot card reading free?

Drawing the cards and their meanings here are free and need no sign-in, as do the card of the day and “Yes or No”. The interpretation of a spread needs a sign-in: a free account gets 1 a day for one or three cards, while the love and career spreads, the horseshoe and the Celtic cross come with “Full Access”.

How does the love spread work?

The love spread has 5 cards: you, your partner, the relationship, the challenges and where it can go. It needs a sign-in and “Full Access”.

What does a reversed card mean?

In the tradition a reversed card means that its force is blocked, delayed or turned inward. That is why its keywords are different: The Sun upright means joy and success, and reversed it means negativity and melancholy. There is more in the guide to reversed cards.

How many cards does a tarot deck have?

The deck has 78 cards: 22 in the Major Arcana and 56 in the Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana is in four suits of 14 cards: wands, cups, swords and pentacles. The meaning of each is in the tarot library.

Can tarot answer yes or no?

Yes, with one card of the Major Arcana: you draw it on the page Yes or No Tarot. Every card has its own answer: yes, no or maybe.
