Name compatibility is a numerology count: every English letter A-Z has a value from 1 to 9 in the Pythagorean table, the values of a name are added and the sum is reduced to one digit. The two numbers give an entry in a table with a score and a short interpretation. For example, MARIA gives 24, and 2 + 4 = 6.

What Is Name Numerology?

Name numerology assigns numbers to letters and gives the resulting sum a symbolic meaning. The English version uses the Pythagorean table for A-Z, so the spelling of each name matters.

The table assigns each English letter a value from 1 to 9: A, J and S are 1, B, K and T are 2, and so on up to 9. Add the letter values, then add the digits of the total until a number from 1 to 9 remains.

Example: M 4 + A 1 + R 9 + I 9 + A 1 = 24, 2 + 4 = 6. The number of MARIA is 6.

A name of several words is counted word by word, and their numbers are added. The totals 11, 22 and 33 are kept to the end and enter the compatibility table as 2, 4 and 6: ANN totals 11 and enters as 2. Use the same spelling when comparing a name again; the calculator counts only the letters A-Z.

How Does Compatibility Work?

The two name numbers identify an entry in a fixed compatibility table. Each pair has a score and a short interpretation; reversing the order of the names gives the same score.

80-100 %, high: The numbers resonate harmoniously, and understanding comes easily.
60-79 %, good: A balanced relationship with few challenges.
45-59 %, average: Differences, but also potential for growth.
under 45 %, low: Very different energies; work is needed.

The percentage is a score in this numerology table. It does not measure a relationship or predict its outcome. Use the interpretation as a conversation prompt.

Is name numerology accurate for relationships?

The result is a symbolic numerology reading. Its percentage is a preset score for a number pair and not a statistical forecast of a relationship. Communication, trust and personal decisions can be understood through the people involved and their experience.

Should I use the full name or a nickname?

You can enter the name or nickname you use, written with English letters A-Z. Keep the spelling consistent when comparing it again. Different letters may change the number, but no spelling has been shown to provide a more accurate relationship prediction.

What does it mean if compatibility is low?

It means the number pair has a lower assigned score in the table. This is not a measurement of the relationship. Read the interpretation and decide whether any of its questions would be useful to discuss.

Does it apply to friendships, or only to romance?

You can compare partners, friends or family members. The calculation stays the same because it uses only the letters of the two names. You provide the relationship context.

What if the names have master numbers (11, 22, 33)?

The compatibility table uses numbers from 1 to 9. It therefore reduces 11 to 2, 22 to 4 and 33 to 6 by adding their digits. For example, ANN totals 11 and enters the comparison as number 2.
