4 types of dreams, techniques to remember them and AI interpretation of the symbols. From Freud and Jung to lucid dreaming.
Dreams are the language of our subconscious -- they speak in images, emotions and symbols. Two main schools of interpretation:
Freud and Jung: dreams process our experiences and help us become more whole.
The soul travels in the astral world and receives messages from spirit guides.
4 main categories
The most common dreams. They simply "take out the trash" from the day -- stress, impressions, conversations. Usually chaotic and without deeper meaning.
Very rare, vivid and logical. The feeling they leave is strong and "real". They often occur at dawn and carry a specific warning.
A cry for help from the subconscious. They reveal a fear or problem you are ignoring in waking life. The nightmare recurs until you resolve it.
A state in which you realize you are dreaming and can control the plot. A higher form of spiritual practice.
Everyone dreams every night, but forgets. Here are four steps for better recall:
Before falling asleep, repeat 3 times: "This morning I will remember my dream clearly."
When you wake up, stay still with your eyes closed for 1-2 minutes.
Keep a notebook by your bed. Write down even a single word right after waking.
Some studies suggest that B6 makes dreams more vivid and memorable.
Everyone dreams 4-6 times a night, but 95% of dreams are forgotten within the first 5 minutes of waking. If you think you do not dream, you simply do not remember. The REM phase of sleep is a biological necessity.
Recurring dreams point to an unresolved problem or emotion in real life. The subconscious repeats the message until you become aware of it and take action. Pay attention to the emotion, not the literal storyline.
Occasional nightmares are normal and even useful -- they show what is bothering you. Frequent nightmares (3+ times a week) may be linked to stress, PTSD or medication. In that case, consider talking to a specialist.
A state in which you realize you are dreaming and can control the plot. It is practiced through techniques such as "reality checks" (look at a clock -- in a dream the numbers shift) and the MILD method. It is considered a higher spiritual practice.
Prophetic dreams are very rare, vivid and logical. The feeling they leave is strong and "real". Most dreams are cleansing (processing the stress of the day). A true prophetic dream is typically one that occurs at dawn and carries specific information.
