Varna and the meeting with Deunov

Prosveta’s chronology places his birth in Serbtsi in 1900 and his later childhood in Varna. He met Deunov at seventeen, subsequently studied in Sofia and worked in education. The publisher’s photographs document several stages of his life.

From spoken lecture to book

He moved to France in 1937 and continued teaching there. The publisher describes the progression from shorthand transcripts to audio and video recordings. Prosveta’s editions organise these spoken lectures by topic, making the origin of a passage useful context alongside the collection’s title.

Le Bonfin and the Bulgarian connection

BNR includes the Le Bonfin community in The Unfamiliar Peter Deunov series, connecting the French story with its Bulgarian roots. The radio discussion, the publisher’s biography and Ivanov’s own talks offer complementary accounts.
