Shared tools, different questions
Astronomy and astrology long shared calculations and tables. A planet’s position can be checked against observation. A claim about what that position means for someone’s life requires a separate test.
The example of Kepler
Johannes Kepler worked with astrology alongside his astronomical research. This is a historical fact about his activities. It does not give every astrological claim the same evidential basis as the laws of planetary motion.
What the change means
Instead of a story of “superstition becoming proven astrology”, trace which methods became more precise and which claims remained contested. Observation, printed editions and criticism can then be considered without choosing a winner in advance.
