Almost thirty years in Sofia

The church biography dates the start of his ministry at St Nicholas of Myra Church to May 1921. He serves there until his death on 26 February 1950, amid the Russian émigré community and the life of the Bulgarian capital.

Recognised as a saint in 2016

The patriarchal and synodal message explains the church’s grounds for his veneration. Accounts of prayerful help and miracles belong to believers’ testimony. Canonisation is a religious act and is not an assessment of clairvoyant predictions.
