Check the claim rather than the impression
Record the exact words before the event, the time frame and what would count against them. “There will be change” can fit almost any life. Keep every claim, including misses, rather than retaining only apparent hits.
Recognise pressure in the offer itself
An urgent demand for more money after a claim of a curse, instructions not to speak to trusted people, or a guaranteed result are reasons to end the conversation. You need not first settle the philosophical question of whether gifts exist.
One test is not a universal verdict
A well-defined test can assess a particular claim under specified conditions. Appearance, ritual or confidence cannot classify everyone as “genuine” or “fake”. Keep the assessment tied to observed conduct and evidence.
