Cleansing Rituals
Rituals for cleansing a space and for personal practice. Here are three: smudging with sage, a herbal spray for the home and a ritual bath with water, salt and herbs. Each has its best time, materials and steps. When smudging, the room is aired and the fire is watched.
This is a tradition and not medical or financial advice.
Sage Ritual for Aura Cleansing
A smudging ritual: in the tradition, the smoke of sage cleanses the aura of what has stagnated.
Best time: Any time you feel energetically drained, burdened, or after contact with many people. Especially suitable during a waning moon.
Herbal Energy Cleansing of a Space
A herbal spray with water, salt and essential oils that, in the tradition, freshens the home after an argument, an illness or a hard day.
Best time: Any time, especially after illness, conflict, or when you sense the energy is “heavy.”
Cleansing Ritual Bath
A ritual bath with warm water, salt and herbs; in the tradition, it washes away the tension of the day.
Best time: In the evening, before bed, especially after a hard day or during a waning moon.
