Herbal Energy Cleansing of a Space

A herbal spray with water, salt and essential oils that, in the tradition, freshens the home after an argument, an illness or a hard day. Best time: Any time, especially after illness, conflict, or when you sense the energy is “heavy.”

This is a tradition and not medical or financial advice.

What you will need

  • A spray bottle (about 250 ml / 8 oz)
  • Distilled or spring water (about 200 ml, to fill most of the bottle)
  • Sea salt (1 tablespoon)
  • Alcohol as a preservative (about 50 ml vodka or rubbing alcohol)
  • Essential oils of your choice, 10-15 drops total: lavender (calms), rosemary (cleanses), lemon (refreshes), tea tree (antibacterial)

Ritual steps

  1. Preparation: Fill the spray bottle almost to the top with water.
  2. Adding ingredients: Add one tablespoon of sea salt and about 50 ml of alcohol.
  3. Choosing oils: Add 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oils. You can use one or a combination. A classic cleansing combination is lavender and rosemary.
  4. Activation: Close the bottle and shake it well. As you shake it, set your intention: “With this spray, I cleanse this space of all negative and stagnant energy. Let peace, light, and harmony reign here.”
  5. Usage: Shake before each use and spray into the air throughout the space, focusing on corners, doors, and windows. Keep it as an air and fabric mist: avoid spraying it directly onto people, pets, food, screens, or polished wood, and test a small hidden spot first on any surface. You can use it daily or whenever you feel the need. Essential oils can irritate skin and are not safe to swallow.
