A ritual bath with warm water, salt and herbs; in the tradition, it washes away the tension of the day. Best time: In the evening, before bed, especially after a hard day or during a waning moon. You will need: a bathtub with warm water and one cup of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) or sea salt.

This is a tradition and not medical or financial advice.

What you will need

  • Bathtub with warm water
  • One cup of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) or sea salt
  • A few drops of lavender or sandalwood essential oil
  • Herbs of your choice (chamomile, rosemary)
  • Candles (optional, for atmosphere)

Ritual steps

  1. Preparation: Clean the bathtub. Light candles if desired and play relaxing music.
  2. Preparing the water: As the tub fills, add the salt, essential oils, and herbs. Stir the water with your hand clockwise, imagining it being charged with cleansing energy.
  3. Intention: Before getting into the bath, say: “With this water, I cleanse my body, mind, and spirit. All negative energy is washed away and transformed into light.”
  4. Immersion: Immerse yourself in the bath and stay for at least 20 minutes. Relax. Breathe deeply. Imagine the water drawing all tension and negativity out of you.
  5. Completion: When finished, drain the water and imagine everything negative going with it. Rinse yourself quickly under the shower if you wish. Dry off with a clean towel and put on clean clothes.
