Sage Ritual for Aura Cleansing
A smudging ritual: in the tradition, the smoke of sage cleanses the aura of what has stagnated. Best time: Any time you feel energetically drained, burdened, or after contact with many people. Especially suitable during a waning moon. You will need: a bundle of white sage (or a Palo Santo stick) and a fireproof container (shell or ceramic bowl).
This is a tradition and not medical or financial advice.
What you will need
- Bundle of white sage (or a Palo Santo stick)
- Fireproof container (shell or ceramic bowl)
- Feather or fan (optional)
- Matches or lighter
Ritual steps
- Preparation: Open a window in the room so negative energy can exit. Light the tip of the sage bundle, let it burn for a few seconds, then blow it out so it only smolders and smokes.
- Intention: Before starting, set your intention. For example: “I cleanse my energy field of everything that does not serve my highest good.”
- Smudging: Take the smoking sage in hand. Starting from your feet, slowly move the sage upward along your body, about 15-20 cm away. Using the feather or your hand, direct the smoke toward your body. Pass over your legs, torso, arms, back (as much as you can), and finally around your head.
- Visualization: As you do this, imagine the gray smoke “clinging” to stagnant energy and carrying it out of your aura, where it disperses and exits through the open window.
- Completion: When finished, carefully extinguish the sage in the fireproof container. Thank the spirit of the plant. Remain for a few minutes in the feeling of lightness and purity.
